|Kevin Costner Shares Simple Yet Impactful Life Advice with Fans
On September 20, Kevin Costner entertained fans at the One805Live! charity concert held at his home in Carpinteria, California, where he performed with his band, Modern West. During the event, he introduced his song “I Can’t Do This Without You” with an inspiring message about relationships.
The 69-year-old Yellowstone star emphasized the importance of expressing appreciation to loved ones. “Sometimes we forget to say just one thing to those who support us—our sweethearts, our partners,” he remarked. “That one thing is: ‘You’re important.’” Costner encouraged the audience to make sure their loved ones know they matter, stating, “In life, sometimes it’s just the littlest thing.”
He passionately added, “What’s so hard about saying, ‘You’re important, you’ve been important for a long time?’ Sometimes you have to search for the right words, and that’s what this song is about.”
The charity concert featured performances by artists like Pink, Kenny Loggins, and Richard Marx, and was attended by notable figures including Prince Harry, Cameron Diaz, Zoe Saldaña, and Jeff Bridges. Proceeds from the event will support local fire, police, and sheriff departments, focusing on equipment and mental health resources.
Recently, Costner has also shared valuable life lessons with his 17-year-old son, Cayden. In an interview with Hollywood Authentic, he reflected on their collaborative experience creating Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2. “He’s seen me work hard on this project,” Costner shared. “For his entire life, he’s known I’ve been passionate about it, and now he’s witnessing the culmination of that effort.”
He noted the significance of perseverance, saying, “It’s a unique feeling for him to see the movie come to life and to witness people appreciating it. I hope he recognizes the value in not giving up on your dreams.”
Costner is a father to seven children, including Cayden, 17; Hayes, 15; and Grace, 14, with his estranged wife, Christine Baumgartner. He also has Annie, 40; Lily, 37; and Joe, 36, from his marriage to Cindy Silva, and son Liam, 26, with former partner Bridget Rooney.
