Tom Selleck Responds To Possible Jesse Stone Return As Part Of Post-Blue Bloods Future

Tom Selleck discusses the possibility of returning to his role as Jesse Stone after the conclusion of Blue Bloods. Selleck made his debut in the Jesse Stone movies in the 2005 TV movie Jesse Stone: Stone Cold. He continued playing the character throughout this era, with his most recent appearance being in 2015’s Jesse Stone: Lost in Paradise. Selleck is also a lead character in Blue Bloods, a procedural series that wraps up its final season this year.
Speaking with TV Insider, Selleck discusses whether he would return to play Jesse Stone. The interviewer asked him what was next after the end of Blue Bloods, suggesting that a final Jesse Stone could be in order. In response, Selleck noted that if he reprised his role of Jesse Stone, “it wouldn’t be a final one.” Check out the full quote from Selleck below:
It looks like now I might have to write [a script for another movie.]. It wouldn’t be a final one because everybody loves it. Jesse is a great character, and it would be fascinating to find out where he is quite a few years later. But I need to regroup; I don’t know what’s next, but assuming the phone doesn’t stop ringing, I’m going to keep working.
