Kevin Costner gets honest about the rumors he’s dating Jewel

Kevin Costner has addressed rumors about his relationship with singer Jewel, clarifying that they are just friends and have never dated. During a June 18 interview on “The Howard Stern Show,” Costner explained that he and Jewel have a special friendship, and he does not want the rumors to jeopardize it. He stated, “No, Jewel and I are friends. We’ve never gone out, ever. She’s special, and I don’t want these rumors to ruin our friendship because that’s what we have”

The speculation began after Costner visited Richard Branson’s Necker Island, where Jewel, among others, was also present. Costner mentioned that Branson had invited him for years, and following his recent divorce, he decided to accept. During this visit, Costner and Jewel engaged in meaningful conversations, which led to misunderstandings about the nature of their relationship. Costner emphasized that the rumors were unfounded, stating, “I don’t want the press to ruin this for us, because I’ve had conversations with her, textwise, and she’s so smart… We don’t have a romance, and we’ve not dated”

Jewel also commented on the rumors in an April interview with Elle, where she described Costner as a great person but did not confirm or deny a romantic relationship. The rumors were fueled by their appearance together at a charity event in November 2023, which Jewel highlighted in an Instagram post, praising Costner for mentoring the children involved in her foundation’s activities.
