Judge Explains Why He Sided With Kevin Costner and Not Christine Baumgartner Over Child Support Payments

In the recent child support case between Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner, the court significantly reduced Costner’s monthly payments from $129,000 to $63,209. Baumgartner argued for a higher amount, citing Costner’s substantial income, including his earnings from Yellowstone. However, the judge found Costner’s argument more compelling, especially regarding the exceptional nature of his Yellowstone salary and his overall financial situation. Costner remains responsible for various additional expenses, including health insurance, education costs, and extracurricular activities for their children. The matter of Baumgartner’s attorney fees is yet to be resolved, with the divorce proceedings anticipated to conclude by December 2023.
